SWF TRUCKING BANDITS 19 , WALTER P KELLY PACKERS 6
The Bandits capped off an 11-0 season with a 19-6 victory over the Packers at the Travis complex this past Saturday night.
The Bandits started off the game with a methodical 11 play drive powered down the field by running back Shane Cowan, who had 8 carries on the possession. Jack Murphy would find Brayden Louisson for an 8 yard touchdown pass. Murphy would slither in for the extra point to make it 7-0 Bandits. On the Packers ensuing possession a swarming Bandits defense, which would be led by Dante Miller and Cowan who would combine for double digit tackles on the day, forced a 3 and out. After the punt all it took was 1 play for the Bandits to reach paydirt as Cowan raced 64 yards untouched through the Packers defense for a TD making the score 13-0. That would remain the score heading into halftime.
The Packers would mount a drive to start the third quarter, relying on their standout running back Jordan Tavares to get them down the field. The packers would make it all way the down to the Bandits 22 yard line before a fumble recovered by Bandits middle linebacker Kenny Danielsen would end up proving costly. It took just 3 plays for the Bandits to find the endzone and punish the Packers for the turnover. After a huge run by Cowan, Murphy again hooked up with Louisson for a 26 yard strike to go ahead 19-0. The Bandits defense consistently got 11 helmets to the ball all game long, not allowing the Packers and the explosive Tavares any big plays. Louisson, Danielsen, Carmine Daleo,Prince Sprinkler, Nick Murphy and the rest of the Bandits defense were relentless all night on the defensive side of the ball. The final score would be 19-6 as the Packers Marcus Velasquez plunged into the endzone in the waning seconds of the contest.
Cowan, behind an offensive line of Salvatore Ferraioli, Daleo, Danielsen, Sprinkler, CJ Scire, Kevin Foy and fullback Miller, would end the night with 166 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown.
